Training Philosophy

Part of being an athlete is training.  We want to create fun, energetic and effective training sessions for all of our members.  Coaches focus on technique, endurance and development in every session.  Our training sessions are “member’s only”, however, if you are thinking about joining – we would love to have you join us for a trial session.  Contact us to ask how.

Developing a Plan

Every athlete has different goals and available time in their lives. This means each of us will each have a slightly different workout plans to accommodate our life and other time commitments. PMC has several NCCP coaches that can talk with you and make suggestions for a weekly workout plan.  If you are looking for a personalized and detailed plan, we can refer you to a number of professional Triathlon Coaches that offer paid programs and planning.

Below is a generic example of a weekly plan structured around the PMC swims that happen on Wednesdays and Sundays, including  spin/outdoor bike rides and runs.  This is only an example and will depend on your level of fitness and what type of event you are training for.

Swim

Year round twice-weekly coached pool swims with workouts tailored for all levels. Summer outdoor swim clinics and mini-competitions.

Bike

Fall and winter spin sessions focusing on cadence and interval training. New in 2018 ... spring and summer weekly coached outdoor rides.

Run

Brick runs following every swim and bike session plus ad hoc fun runs organized by the group.
